A
Press Release from Drs. Brenda and Erik Slovin…
HARVARD
MEDICAL SCHOOL INCLUDES CHIROPRACTIC;
NORWALK DOCTORS ERIK
AND BRENDA SLOVIN TO PARTICIPATE
Norwalk,
CT, April 30, 2007 – Harvard University, long held as the
gold standard in academic and medical school excellence, has slated a
post-graduate course entitled Low Back Pain For The Primary Physician
to be conducted on May 4, 2007. Participating in this groundbreaking post-graduate
course will be local chiropractors Erik and Brenda Slovin of Slovin Chiropractic
Center.
This Harvard
post-graduate course will feature several renowned and well-respected
physicians and professors from the prestigious Harvard Medical School
Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
The curriculum
of the Low Back Pain For The Primary Physician post-graduate course is
particularly significant due to its inclusion of chiropractic treatment
and its myriad of proven benefits.
According
to Dr. Brenda Slovin, “Chiropractors spend years receiving highly
specialized training learning how to locate and realign misplaced spinal
vertebrae that can interfere with the nerves around the spinal cord. These
vertebral misalignments cause neurological interference within the human
body and are known to be responsible for a wide variety of disabilities
and pain. So it is particularly exciting to us that such an impressive
institution as Harvard University is including the chiropractic approach
to low back pain in its post-graduate studies.”
The chiropractic
approach to healthcare began in 1895, and today it is the largest and
most popular drug-free healthcare system in the world. In fact, in 1994,
the United States government sent shockwaves throughout the healthcare
system when a definitive public pronouncement established chiropractic
care as one of the preferred and most effective methods of care for adult
acute low back pain.
“As
chiropractic doctors, it is our role to educate as well as treat our patients,
and we consider Harvard University’s Low Back Pain For The Primary
Physician post-graduate course to be a major landmark in expanding our
knowledge base. We’re definitely looking forward to applying this
exciting educational opportunity to the process of helping our patients
improve both their health and their quality of life,” says Dr. Erik
Slovin.
