Safety Topic: The Truth About Booster Seats

A Personal Letter from Drs. Brenda and Erik Slovin...

BOOSTER SEAT SAFETY

When a child is over 40lbs, has outgrown their 5 point harness Child Restraint System, and is emotionally ready to stay properly seated without a 5-point harness, a belt-positioning boosterseat is the next step. Booster seats are designed to raise the child up to help align theshoulder belt between the neck and shoulder and the lap belt safely over the pelvis. There seems to be a lot of common misuse of booster seats. These tips should help.

Important: Booster Seats must be used with a standard lap and shoulder belt.
